Our Mission

To educate high school students, eligible voters and the rest of the community about the importance of becoming involved in government through voting so that they will be able to make educated ballots and regularly participate in elections.

The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy.
— Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr.

About Us

Youth VIA, or Voting Involvement Association Nonprofit (VIAN) is a 501c organization that is formed by a group of enthusiastic high school students across Orange County, California who are passionate about democratic and voting process of our great nation. We are under the direct guidance of the Orange County Registrar of Voters (ROV).  The organization  aims to better educate the youth of today and voters of tomorrow through a nonpartisan perspective on politics. In other words, VIA not only focuses on the teenage population but also on all adults who have the right and responsibility to make informed votes. Our group is organized by Orange County high school students, and we welcome anyone who is interested in politics and voting. Through a variety of volunteer service opportunities, we help incorporate members of the middle school and high school demographic into the sphere of political involvement.

Why should students care about voting when they are still under 18? For the same reason that children receive education: voting may be in the future, but education concerning it should start now. In a more immediate sense, members can develop leadership skills through experience in this organization. In a broader sense, members can develop into outstanding politicians and public speakers during a period when the world lacks strong international leadership. We are a group of ambitious students who are dedicated to these concerns and we invite you to join us!
